Walter Schurtenberger
Role: Speaker
After 37 years of yacht design and construction Schurtenberger has developed a deep and thorough understanding of hydrodynamics and aerodynamics. The last 10 years Walter has exclusively designed and built Hydrokinetic turbines, done CFD analysis, construction, and testing of his design. Schurtenberger is well versed in the usage of Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) and is trained to utilize the most sophisticated software in this field including using AI software for turbine optimization. Walter applied for and has been issued five utility patents for the design of the hydrokinetic turbine he developed and then assigned to HEC. The first patent US 10,294,913 B2 was awarded on May 21, 2019. The second patent U.S. 11,174,829 B2 was awarded on October I6, 2021. 3 additional U.S. patents granted in this family for the Performance-Enhancing Wildlife and Debris Excluder: U.S. 11,022,088 B2 - US11,428,200 B2 - US11,649,799 B2 awarded between June I, 2021, to May 16, 2023.
