Matthew Holland

Matthew is a chartered Mechanical Engineer who has been involved in design, testing, and offshore operations within the wave energy sector since 2012. As Senior Project Engineer at Wave Energy Scotland, Matthew has developed the requirements and scope for multiple funding programmes and provided technical support to awarded projects. This support has involved facilitating knowledge capture projects to share lessons learnt from within the sector, instigating a mandatory design review procedure to enhance projects’ engineering quality, and developing a set of mandatory environmental conditions for tank testing which have now been adopted by the IEA in their Framework on Ocean Energy. He is also a member of the maintenance committee for the IEC TC114 62600-103: Best practices and recommended procedures for the testing of pre-prototype devices.
