Garret Root

Garret Root is a Cultural Resources professional with 14 years of experience. He has a Master of Arts in Public History from California State University, Sacramento and a Bachelor of Arts in History from California State University, Chico. He meets and exceeds the Secretary of the Interior Professional Qualification Standards for History and Architectural History. He works for SWCA Environmental Consultants as a Principal Architectural History Team Lead, supervising 5 architectural historians across the Western United States. His area of focus has been on water, utilities, and FERC hydropower projects across the Western United States. In that role he has documented hundreds of historic-age properties for Federal, State, and Local significance.
