Role: Panelist

Thomas St. John serves as a Project Manager, Hydro Regulatory & Legislative Policy, at Southern Company. Thomas joined Southern Company in 2002, and currently manages the formulation and execution of state and federal legislative and regulatory policy initiatives and advocacy efforts for Southern Company’s hydro generation fleet. He has experience in FERC licensing, land and public recreation management, FERC license and environmental compliance, and risk management matters. Prior to joining Southern Company, he practiced law at Balch & Bingham LLP, representing energy companies and financial institutions in the areas of corporate, contract and bankruptcy law, in contract and commercial litigation, in state and federal courts. Thomas currently serves on the Board of Directors of the National Hydropower Association, serves as General Counsel and a member on the Board of Directors of Power Pedalers, and is on the board of the Alabama Power Service Organization.
