Dan Hellin is the Deputy Director of PacWave at Oregon State University (OSU). PacWave was established to support the global wave energy industry by providing open ocean sites for the testing of wave energy converters, and research and development (R&D) of marine energy technologies. PacWave also supports research on the environmental effects of marine energy, anchor and mooring systems, and installation, operation, and maintenance procedures. Dan started with PacWave in 2013 and has over 30 years of experience directing, managing, and coordinating coastal and ocean projects in fields including marine renewable energy; marine spatial planning; port and harbor management; and regulatory, policy, and economic analysis. He has a bachelor’s degree in Zoology from Oxford University and a master’s degree in Coastal Management from Newcastle University in England.
