Ron Klawitter is the Manager of the Resource Analysis & Planning group at the Salt River Project. His team is responsible for planning the generation resources necessary to meet SRP’s customer needs while reaching SRP’s sustainability and decarbonization goals . Ron has more than a decade of experience in energy and water planning, including managing a multi-billion dollar portfolio of water and power resource development projects as well as serving as Senior Policy Advisor to the Commissioner of the Bureau of Reclamation in Washington, D.C. Ron has a bachelor’s degree in Economics and Mathematics from Northern Arizona University and a master’s degree in Applied Economics from the University of Arizona. Ron was born and raised in Arizona and grew up swimming in the canals and irrigation ponds of Arizona’s Verde Valley that are fed by the Verde River—and has appreciated the value of reliable air conditioning since childhood.
