Ashley Brooks

Role: Moderator

Ashley Brooks (she/her) leads the diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility efforts for the Department of Energy’s Water Power Technologies Office (WPTO). In her role supporting WPTO, she strives to embed DEIA into the fabric of WPTO’s projects and programs. In addition to DEIA, she supports the office’s STEM and workforce efforts, focusing on pathways to water power careers. She brings a wealth of knowledge from academia where she led efforts to attract, retain, and develop a diverse graduate student body at the University of Southern California and managed executive education programming at Georgetown University. She fell in love with DEIA and community early on in her career while at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center’s (UPMC) Office of Engagement and Inclusion, where she supported community-based organizations and underserved communities in the UPMC footprint.
