Role: Co-Facilitator

Duff Mitchell is the Managing Director of Juneau Hydropower. Under his leadership, the company is pioneering a FERC-licensed 19.8 MW fish-friendly hydropower project in Alaska with 40 miles of high-voltage electric transmission. Duff has experience in all phases of hydropower development, from permitting, financing, and operations. Duff acquired a BBA from Ohio University and an MBA from Norwich University and is a US Army Command and General Staff College graduate. Duff is a retired military veteran. Duff is active in several sustainability and renewable energy boards, and has recently served on the State of Alaska’s Energy Security Task Force, ensuring hydropower is prominently accorded its rightful position in Alaska's energy future. Duff has years of experience drafting legislative initiatives and working to inform elected leaders to pass hydropower and renewable energy legislation at the State and Federal levels.
