Vladimir Koritarov

Vladimir Koritarov is the Acting Director of the Center for Energy, Environmental, and Economic Systems Analysis (CEEESA) at Argonne National Laboratory and Program Manager for Argonne’s water power program. He has over 35 years of experience in the modeling and analysis of electric power and overall energy systems in domestic and international applications. His research interests include the analysis of power system capacity expansion options, modeling of hydroelectric and irrigation systems, hydro-thermal coordination, reliability and production cost analysis, integration of variable renewables, energy storage, and electric sector restructuring issues. A large component of his work relates to technology transfer, capacity building, and providing technical assistance and training to developing countries. He has managed numerous energy and environmental projects, and provided technical assistance to more than 30 countries. Before joining Argonne in 1991, Mr. Koritarov worked for 8 years as power system planner in the Union of Yugoslav Electric Power Industry.
