U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and WRDA24 – What’s New for Developers? (invite only)

Time: 12:30 PM - 2:00 PM
Room Number: California
Day: 3/31/2025

This dialogue, organized by the NHA New Hydropower Developer Roundtable, gathers invited project developers and a representative from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) to discuss key provisions of the Water Resources Development Act (WRDA) of 2024.

The conversation will explore how the Corps plans to establish “clear, concise, and specific guidance” to standardize the review of Section 408 hydropower development across the various USACE districts. Participants will also discuss with USACE the role and benefit of private, contributed funds toward pre-application meetings.

Invited participants will also have the opportunity to discuss more generally how these changes shape their own projects and to raise additional concerns with the Corps staff.
