Improving the Bankability and Readiness of Marine Energy Projects

Building investor confidence is a critical step toward the widespread commercialization of marine energy technologies. This session will explore how standardization and certification developments can mitigate risks, improve bankability and insurability, and accelerate technology development and project deployment in the marine energy sector.

Through a mix of brief case studies from international efforts, lessons learned from other technologies, and insights from domestic initiatives, attendees will gain a deeper understanding of how these tools drive investor certainty. Speakers will also discuss the federal government’s role in fostering collaboration, supporting the development of technical standards and certification systems, and addressing regulatory challenges to pave the way for a more robust investment environment.
