Community Connections Presentations, by Collegiate Competitions Teams

Throughout the day, teams competing in both the Marine Energy Collegiate Competition (MECC) and the Hydropower Collegiate Competion (HCC) will share the work they’ve done in the Community Connections portion of the competitions.

Each team has 10 minutes on stage to make its presentation in front of a panel of judges. The judges then have 10 minutes to ask the team questions.
Each presentation and the follow-up Q&A is open to any attendee at Waterpower Week, as well as to all competing teams.

What is the Community Connections component of the Competitions?

This component of the competition involves 3 parts:
1) Creation of a team story: Teams submitted a 1- to 2-page team summary detailing their project, goals, and background.
2) Interviews with Industry: Each team interviewed a minimum of four industry professionals; each team will share insights from the interviews in the final presentation.
3) Community engagement: Each team organized and ran at least one educational event with middle school, high school, or post-secondary students and/or the general public.
